With more than 50 years of experience in supplying parts for racing engines, race teams know they can rely on Clevite 77® engine bearings - the officially licensed engine bearings of NASCAR® - in their pursuit of the checkered flag.

"Our participation in national contingency and award programs has not only increased our exposure for the reliability of Clevite 77 engine bearings with teams on the racing circuit, but also with our customers," stated Ron Sledge, Motorsports Manager for Clevite Engine Parts. "Their high performance and durability are exactly what winning race teams need."

Clevite Engine Parts made history with NASCAR in 1985 by introducing the inaugural NASCAR Engine Builder of the Year award with a first prize of $3,000. Not only has this competition grown in popularity, but also in rewards. Last year and in 1996, Charlie Siegars, engine builder for Jeff Gordon's Dupont Refinishes Chevrolet, Hendrick Motorsports car #24, won and received a $50,000 check, trophy and custom-designed 14k solid gold ring at the NASCAR awards banquet, held at New York's Waldorf-Astoria and televised on ESPN.

In 1987, our involvement branched out to being an associate sponsor of the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) circuit, and the Automobile Racing Club of America, Inc. (ARCA) in 1988. In 1995, Clevite became a major sponsor of the NHRA.

Within the ARCA circuit, we offer the Clevite Engine Parts Engine Mechanic of the Year award. At the end of the season, the engine mechanic with the most points in each division receives a cash prize and the admiration of his or her peers.

Not only do these engine builders compete behind the scenes, but we invite them to compete in the spotlight. Clevite Engine Parts hosts the entertaining and competitive Engine Builder Challenges throughout the country at industry tradeshows, conferences, race tracks and customer events. These competitions allow racing fans to ask the engine builders technical questions to help solve their own engine problems and to learn new techniques in a relaxed and fun atmosphere.
