Clevite® Oil Pumps

A Clevite oil pump should be the heart of every engine rebuild. Clevite replacement oil pumps are functionally equivalent to OEM-type specifications for oil flow and pressure. Every one is pre-lubricated and cycle tested with oil to insure that it meets performance requirements. In fact, documented test results show that Clevite oil pumps produce up to 5 PSI more oil pressure than competitive brands under the same operating conditions.

Nearly all Clevite oil pumps use cast iron housings to offer better wear life and minimize clearance changes resulting from varying engine operating temperatures. Cover plates are made of heat-treated, high-grade cast iron. Pump shafts are produced from fatigue resistant, high-strength alloy steel. All of these features contribute to your assurance of a long, trouble-free service life.

High pressure and high volume pumps also are available for selected high performance applications. Clevite's race proven high volume pumps deliver 20 to 25 percent greater flow than standards pumps.

In addition to its line of gear and gerotor-style pumps, Clevite also offers oil pump repair kits for rebuilding pumps –an integral part of the timing cover.

Clevite® Pistons

Clevite pistons are manufactured under strict quality control utilizing Statistical Process Control (SPC) to make sure they are the highest quality pistons manufactured. Clevite pistons are manufactured from premium aluminum alloys for reduced weight, greater strength and superior hardness. Improved thermal expansion characteristics along with wear and scuff resistance are additional benefits of these special aluminum alloys. Clevite pistons are packed in weight matched sets for smoother engine performance and longer service.

Clevite also uses a unique method of skirt finishing. As the piston is being manufactured, a diamond cutting tool rotates around the stationary piston. This process creates a precise elliptical shape and slightly tapers the skirt, all in one operation. Tolerances for finishing Clevite piston skirts are the tightest in the industry, providing you with the most uniform pistons. This uniformity allows you to bore engine blocks to size without having to match each piston to a specific bore, saving you time and money.
